Regular roof RV covers are strong and robust. They have the roof panels lined up horizontally running through the length of the building. The A-frame RV carports are stronger and have a more traditional boxed eave. The Vertical style RV carports are the strongest and have the panels running from top to down on the carport letting the snow, dirt, and debris fall off to the ground. The Vertical style RV covers have a 20-year rust through warranty on the roof panels while the horizontal roofs on boxed eave and the regular style motorhome carports only have the warranty for buildings 36 feet long or less.

Yes, we have a wide variety of sizes available for both our steel and metal garages. They can be 12 feet, 18 feet, 20 feet, 22 feet, or 24 feet wide. The triple-steel garages are built in 26-foot, 28-foot, and 30-foot widths. We also have 40-foot-wide models, available in lengths of 32 feet, 34 feet, 36 feet, 38 feet, and 40 feet. The lean-to model comes in 36 feet, 42 feet, 44 feet, 46 feet, and 48 feet. It has 12 feet on both sides of the building. The lengths start at 21 feet and get longer in 5-foot increments: 26 feet, 31 feet, 36 feet, 41 feet, 46 feet, 51 feet, 56 feet, 61 feet, 66 feet, 71 feet, 76 feet, 81 feet, 86 feet, 91 feet, 96 feet, and 101 feet. To make them longer than 41 feet, we attach two of our steel garages end to end; they can be built longer than 101 feet. We recommend the vertical roof for any garage built 41 feet or longer.
Look at the top of a regular-roof garage and you’ll see a barn-shaped roof with rounded sides. It is the most economical type of metal garage. The leg height on regular garage packages is 8 feet, but at the top of the bend on the leg, you have an additional foot, giving you 9-foot legs with a 9-by-8 garage door. The boxed-eave and vertical-roof metal garage packages come standard with 9-foot legs fully enclosed with a 9-by-8 garage door. The boxed-eave style has an A-frame gable roof with a 6-inch overhang on both sides. The vertical style is also built with an A-frame roof and has a 6-inch overhang on both sides. All of the steel structures have a 6-inch overhang on the front and back ends. There is one main difference between the vertical- and the boxed-eave-style roofs. On the vertical-style, the roof sheeting runs up and down, allowing snow to slide off the side of the garage structure. On the boxed-eave as well as the regular roof style, the metal sheeting runs lengthwise. Also, the bracing on the vertical sheeting is attached under the roof, which brings an extra element of strength to a vertical-roof garage.
In Virginia and West Virginia, you also have the option of wood and vinyl garage buildings for sale. These prefab, Amish-built garages are delivered fully assembled and are available as two-car garages as well as two-story structures. These wooden buildings are excellent options for those who want a more traditional look for their garage structure.
The regular-style roof is rounded on the sides with a barn-like shape. This is the most economical option for a metal building roof. The leg height on the regular garage packages is 8 feet, but at the top of the bend on the leg, it is 1 foot taller. This gives you 9-foot legs with a 9x8 garage door. The boxed-eave and vertical metal building packages come standard with 9-foot legs fully enclosed with a 9x8 garage door. The metal buildings for sale that have a boxed-eave roof have an A-frame gable roof with a 6-inch overhang on both sides. The vertical style is also built with an A-frame roof and has a 6-inch overhang on both sides. All of our steel buildings for sale have a 6-inch overhang on the front and back ends. The sheeting on a vertical-style roof runs up and down, allowing the snow to slide off of the building so you won’t have to rake the roof. Also, there’s bracing attached under a vertical roof to secure the sheeting. This adds strength to the structure of a vertical garage. When you look at the boxed-eave and regular roofs, you’ll notice that the sheeting runs horizontally over the length of the roof.

This wood hardness list ranks 75 types of wood by their Janka rating. Explore our wood density chart to see which hardwood is the best for your next project! The Janka hardness scale measures the force that’s required to embed a steel ball halfway through a sample of wood. The ball is 0.444 inches in diameter and fired with increasing force. The pounds of force (or newtons if you’re using the metric system) needed to push the ball to the center is the Janka value you end up with. It’s a great way to measure how resistant a piece of wood is to denting and wear. Our Janka wood hardness chart shows how durable certain wood types are.
On the Boxed Eave Style Metal RV Cover, (A-Frame Type), the RV Cover comes with the Standard Horizontal Roof. The Roof Panels run parallel to the side of the Structure. Water will drain to the front or the back of the Structure. On this style you have the option of having the roof panels installed vertically for an additional charge. We recommend the Vertical Roof Style for the small difference in price versus the Horizontal Roof Style.

One of the most popular forms of travel used today is taking an RV cross-country! Travelling in an RV is an experience that not many people get to experience, and if you have, one that you don’t want to miss! In the 60’s and 70’s, vans were the way for a family or group of friends to travel in style and comfort; since then, RV manufacturers have built vehicles with more power, efficiency, and of course, comfort. An RV provides the comforts of home in a versatile vehicle that can be taken just about anywhere. There are plenty of parks and campgrounds across the U.S. to choose from, along with those in other countries if you’re ready for an adventure!
Here at Carport Central, you can find hundreds of metal carports online as well as metal garages. Metal carports can have open sides, open ends, or be partially closed. As they are without walls or have partially enclosed walls (side panels or cut panels), steel carports are also usually less expensive than the metal garages in our online shop. Our helpful building specialists will take your needs and budget into consideration when suggesting which steel building best suits your needs.
This metal hardness chart organizes different types of metal using the Mohs hardness scale, a metric used by scientists to determine the scratch resistance of different minerals. With diamond at the top of the scale at a score of 10, elements and alloys can fall along the metal hardness scale from 10 (the most scratch-resistant) to 1 (the softest). We’ve arranged common metals in order of hardness in our handy chart and in this list. Our list includes different kinds of metal from metallic elements like silver to common alloys like steel.
