There are three types of RV carports – regular roof, a-frame roof, and vertical roof. We provide you with the choice of roof style and wall panel style, all depending on your personal preferences. You are also given the options of a roof-only carport, a carport with panels or a fully-enclosed garage. Your customization options range from the regular style roof (good) to boxed-eave style roof (better) to vertical style (best) that doesn’t allow anything to settle on your paneling. Our RV carports can be built starting at 12′ wide going up to 60’ wide; however, you need to keep in mind that your RV carport cannot be built taller than the width.

The regular-style roof is rounded on the sides with a barn-like shape. This is the most economical option for a metal building roof. The leg height on the regular garage packages is 8 feet, but at the top of the bend on the leg, it is 1 foot taller. This gives you 9-foot legs with a 9x8 garage door. The boxed-eave and vertical metal building packages come standard with 9-foot legs fully enclosed with a 9x8 garage door. The metal buildings for sale that have a boxed-eave roof have an A-frame gable roof with a 6-inch overhang on both sides. The vertical style is also built with an A-frame roof and has a 6-inch overhang on both sides. All of our steel buildings for sale have a 6-inch overhang on the front and back ends. The sheeting on a vertical-style roof runs up and down, allowing the snow to slide off of the building so you won’t have to rake the roof. Also, there’s bracing attached under a vertical roof to secure the sheeting. This adds strength to the structure of a vertical garage. When you look at the boxed-eave and regular roofs, you’ll notice that the sheeting runs horizontally over the length of the roof.
We usually start our 3 car garages out at 20’ wide and can go up to 30’ wide or more; however, the width will depend on the style of your vehicle and if you wish to have a side-entry. By parking along the length of the building you are saving money by not exceeding 30’ in width. Remember 32’ and beyond in width will bump you into our commercial clear-span garages. Yes, we can make metal garages in a custom size, but we’ll charge you for the larger standard size when we do so. For example, let’s say you need a 17-foot-wide garage and the standard widths are either 12 feet or 18 feet. In this case, we’d charge you for the 18-foot model. This rule applies to length as well: If you need the length to be 24 feet and the 26-foot model is too long, we can make the base 24 feet long, but we’ll charge you for the 26-foot model. When figuring out the size you need, remember that when we say 26 feet long, that figure includes a 6-inch overhang on the front and back ends, so the exact base is 25 feet long.
If you’re not looking for a fully enclosed portable metal garage, then a metal carport may be the way to go. Metal carports may be left open or partially enclosed, and they are usually very basic in structure, so they’re usually less expensive than metal garages. Triple carports, metal barn lean-to buildings, and 40-foot steel garages are also available options.
